The Haus of Kitty is proud to present NYC’s ONLY female, non-binary & trans dragucation program “LadyQueen University”! This weekly workshop is designed to turn any queen into a ladyqueen with tips, techniques and fierceness that will commence with our final class in conjunction with LadyQueen's 2nd Annual Draguation Showcase on Saturday May 20th! Students will be able to take the full workshop or individual classes as they see fit. Full workshop participation is required to perform on May 20th Workshops are limited to 10 students.
Classes are held at Bizarre in Bushwick on Saturdays from 12-2pm starting April 2017.
April 8th - Welcome Brunch - NO CLASS FEE/OPTIONAL/RECOMMENDED (All Students Are Required To Purchase Their Own Food/Drink). Students will be meeting all together for a brunch to dicuss drag history, how to find the perfect name for your drag and going through how the class with work and more! 12-2pm
April 15 - LIP SYNC 101 - My famous Lip Sync 101 class comes back with a more improved ciriculum on how to slay the art of lipsyncing. Students will practice using a wide varity of Top 40 songs during the first hour and the 2nd hour we will work on a song of your choice.
April 22nd - MOVE ON STAGE (When you don't know how!) - This class is for anyone and everyone regardless of dance experience. In this class all students will learn how to work a stage, work a crowd and how to better read an audience. Other topics covered is how to accept tips with class, how to handle a dead audience and what to do if an audience member is a little too frisky? Part movement class and part theory.
April 29th - ACT DEVELOPMENT (How to turn your ideas into an on-stage fantasy!) - Students will choose a song of choice (or mix) and we will workshop each individual act that will receive constructive but (gentle) critisim. This will ensure that all students have the tools and support that they need when performing drag for the first time.
May 6th - BEAT THAT FACE! Drag Makeup 101 (This class will be held at a different location, address provided at time of purchase, 10AM-1PM) - This introductory class will help students of all expierences learn the art of drag makeup and how to break down each and every layer that goes into creating a successfull look. Your instructor will be on hand to ensure that all you have a completely knowledge and understanding of everything that you are doing. Crimson Kitty is a freelance makeup artist who has done everything from Fashion Week to Celebrities and everything in between!
May 20th - 2nd Annual Draguation Showcase
BONUS! With purchase of the FULL program, you will get a Audio Mixing 101 class with Crimson! You will learn through Audacity (Free Program for both Mac & PC) how to make a KILLER custom mix, how to record clips from several sources and how to put it all together! (Can be scheduled ahead of time).
